The Pregnancy Pact -
This is a pretty disturbing movie to watch, especially when you know it is inspired by a true story. Teenagers making a pact to get pregnant together is really scary and makes you wonder what would push them to do something like that.
This is definitely not what I would call a movie geared towards entertainment, but it raises an important controversial issue about America’s rise in teen pregnancies.
The Pregnancy Pact might also help raise awareness and provide educational tools for prevention to both parents and teens.
The story is pretty well structured and seen through the eyes of one of the girls in the pregnancy pact and Sidney (Thora Birch), an on-line magazine journalist, covering the events. The good thing about the film is that it doesn’t claim to have the answer as to what should be done, because after all this is a complicated issue, but it does make you think about the consequences of teenpregnancy.
